Regina

From Pile o' Bones to bustling urban centre

Canada's Queen City started out as Pile o' Bones, a humble tent settlement on treeless plain near a small, winding creek. Today it is the provincial capital with an urban forest of more than 350,000 hand-planted trees, an extensive park system, major attractions, and a rich, colourful heritage. Residents are proud of the city they've built, and welcome visitors warmly with handshakes, helpful advice and genuine smiles.

The new RCMP Heritage Centre, near the Royal Canadian Mounted Police training academy, is a must-see attraction. Others include Wascana Centre, a 930 hectare parkland development in the heart of Regina featuring six distinct parks, the Saskatchewan Science Centre/IMAX Theatre, the Royal Saskatchewan Museum and the MacKenzie Art Gallery. Regina also boasts excellent shopping, restaurants and Casino Regina in the historic Union Station.
