Prairie landscapes come alive in autumn

Autumn in Saskatchewan is a colourful event…literally! The leaves change from green to yellow, orange and red, and fields of mature crops provide passersby with breathtaking iconic prairie backdrops.

Fall also means new seasonal events and attractions such as craft fairs, threshing days, corn mazes, and pumpkin patches.  

Wildlife enthusiasts especially look forward to this time of year because Saskatchewan is located along one of North America’s major waterfowl migration routes, which provides for awesome spectacles of hundreds of thousands of waterfowl darkening the sky during their fall migration.

Autumn is also a perfect time to experience Saskatchewan’s varying terrains on horseback, or to visit a ranch and participate in an authentic cattle roundup.
