N end of Last Mountain Lake. Access via grid roads off Hwy 2 at Simpson or 10km W of Nokomis via Hwy 15, or 12km N of Govan via Hwy 20. Watch for signs.
Home of the oldest bird sanctuary in North America, featuring great birding in mid-May and fall staging during Sep and Oct. Over 280 bird species migrate through area including the whooping crane. Self-guided tour, program and trail information available. Observation tower.
