Congratulations to our Recent Contest Winners!

Each year Tourism Saskatchewan offers a number of contests to the public. Contest prizes range from electronics, to gift certificates, to Saskatchewan vacations.

Over the past year we have given away some great prizes to some very lucky people, and we wanted to take an opportunity to congratulate them. Here is a list of our most recent contest winners:

Choose the Cover Contest

In October 2011, as we were preparing the 2012 Saskatchewan Discovery Guide, we launched our "Choose the Cover" Contest, during which we asked our Facebook fans and others to help us decide what image would appear on the cover.

We pored through our library of great Saskatchewan imagery, and narrowed the choices down to two candidates. One shot featured a beach at sunset, the other a zipline and tall trees in the Cypress Hills. Visitors to our Facebook page and to our website were able to vote for their favourite, and then were also able to enter to win an iPad 2 or one of five t-shirts.

The response was overwhelming, with hundreds of thousands of votes cast over the two weeks that the contest ran. Ultimately, the Cypress Hills shot (above) garnered the most votes, and will be used on the cover of the 2012 Saskatchewan Discovery Guide.

The lucky winner of the iPad 2 was Ron Campbell of Star City, Saskatchewan (left). Secondary winners of t-shirts were Brenda Boos, Marlene Frechette, Mitchell Peterson, Kathryn Holden and Michelle Devers. Congratulations everyone, and thanks for voting!

2011 Choose Your Saskatchewan Adventure Contest

This contest was designed with all travellers in mind and was promoted in print and online advertising.

Prize and Winner:
The prize in this contest was a Saskatchewan vacation of the winner’s choice up to the amount of $8,000. Congratulations to the winner, Patricia Smith (right) of Galesburg, IL, USA!

During the 2011 Choose Your Saskatchewan Adventure Contest, we also had monthly draws, each for an 8GB iPod Touch.

Win Big Saskatchewan Trivia Challenge

This contest was promoted on Facebook and Twitter, and it encouraged entrants to take a short, fun quiz about Saskatchewan. After receiving their quiz results, they were able to share them with their social media contacts and enter the contest.

Congratulations to the winner of an iPad, Krishanthi Jeyarajan (left) of Mississauga, Ontario!
 

Saskatchewan: Pure Adventure Contest

This contest was geared towards outdoor enthusiasts and was promoted through print and online advertising.

Prize and Winner:
The Pure Adventure Contest prize was an all-expenses paid fishing trip for four people to Selwyn Lake Lodge in northern Saskatchewan. Congratulations to the winner of this trip, Darren Millam of Blue Springs, Missouri, USA.
