Your once-in-a-lifetime adventure in Saskatchewan’s pristine north will feed your mind, body and soul.
As guests of Selwyn Lake Lodge, you will have the opportunity to weave your own great fish tale. Whether you’re looking for the adrenaline rush of landing a trophy-sized fish, or to simply slow down and re-connect amid the unparalleled beauty of our northern wilderness, your visit to Selwyn Lake Lodge will be an unforgettable one.
Straddling the border between Saskatchewan and the Northwest Territories, Selwyn Lake spans an impressive 72 kilometers long and 29 kilometers wide, and its rich waters offer some of the best catch and release fishing available. From monster-sized lake trout to northern pike and Arctic grayling, it’s not unheard of for anglers to snag multiple trophy fish in a single day. The fishing may be catch and release, but you’ll be treated to a delicious shore lunch that’s sure to impress the most discerning foodie.
Selwyn Lake’s luxurious guest lodge and attention to detail will leave you feeling pampered. After a satisfying day on the water, relax in the well-appointed lodge and indulge in hors d’oeuvres, fine wines and gourmet meals sumptuously prepared by a professional chef. You will enjoy modern guest cabins with private bath facilities, and daily maid and laundry service. And if you’re not relaxed enough already, you can further de-stress with a massage.
The crowning jewel of your adventure is a guided day trip to the legendary Athabasca Sand Dunes - a privilege known only to a handful of people each year. The Athabasca Sand Dunes are the world’s most northerly sand dune formation and Canada’s most active dunes.
Explore this mystical and ecologically fragile environment at your leisure, with dunes as high as 30 meters and a dune field that stretches 100 kilometers. Over 50 rare plant species have been identified, and there is evidence of First Nations use dating back 7-8,000 years. A personal professional photographer will accompany you on your journey, to capture each memorable moment, and to share tips for taking the perfect photograph.
Return transportation to and from Saskatoon is included. Saskatoon is Saskatchewan’s largest city, and it’s chock-full of outstanding attractions, cultural offerings and urban amenities. Enjoy the natural beauty of the South Saskatchewan River which winds its way through the city, and the extensive trail network and adjacent green spaces of the Meewasin River Valley. Your home while in Saskatoon will be the majestic Delta Bessborough Hotel, known as Saskatoon’s Castle on the River.
