2009 First Nations University of Canada Powwow
April 4 - 5, 2009
This year marks the 31st Annual Spring Celebration for the First Nations University of Canada, which features the very popular 2009 First Nations University of Canada Powwow. More than 700 dancers will compete for over $56,000 in cash prizes.
From April 4 - 5, 2009, the Brandt Centre, Evraz Place in Regina, will host this much anticipated event, which is one of the biggest Powwows in Saskatchewan. It attracts more than 7,000 visitors and participants from across Canada and the United States.
This celebration of spring announces new life and gives thanks for sharing in the rebirth of the land. Since it first began in 1978, the powwow has been held every year to celebrate cultural diversity, to unify families and communities, and to demonstrate First Nations traditions through a wide variety of song and dance styles.
In addition to the powwow, this event also hosts a Trade Fair, Aboriginal Fashion Show and more. Click here to learn more about the 31st Annual Spring Celebration and 2009 First Nations University of Canada Powwow.
