Pavilion Continues to Represent Saskatchewan
During the Vancouver 2010 Winter Games, which were held February 12 - 28, 2010, Saskatchewan had a prominent visual presence within the city of Vancouver, to say the least. The creation of the Saskatchewan Pavilion was a key component of the global celebration that took place in Vancouver during the Games, and it showed Canada and the rest of the world exactly what Saskatchewan has to offer.
The Government of Saskatchewan, Tourism Saskatchewan and several other partners participated in the Saskatchewan Pavilion, which showcased Saskatchewan’s cultural identity, artistic nature, hospitality, tourism, and the economic opportunities that abound in the Land of the Living Skies.
The Saskatchewan Pavilion encompassed more than 20,500 square feet at Concord Place on the north shore of False Creek and feature a monumental, 6-storey video dome as the Saskatchewan Experience Centre. It loomed high above the expansive 7,500 square foot Entertainment Centre and presented an unmistakable landmark in the downtown area. Click here to see photos of the Saskatchewan Pavilion.
With daily exposure to thousands of visitors, the Saskatchewan Pavilion had the opportunity to speak to and entertain people from around the globe.
2010 Paralympic Games
For the 2010 Paralympic Games, the Pavilion will be moving its location to Whistler from March 17-20, 2010. The www.saskpavilion.ca website will continue its coverage of the Saskatchewan Pavilion during that time, bringing visitors new stories, photos, entertainment information and more.
