Cathedral Village Arts Festival

Regina, Monday, May 19 to Saturday, May 24, 2008

The Cathedral Village Arts Festival is a celebration of the arts, life and the spirit of community. The six-day Regina festival features performing, visual and literary arts, with a wide variety of Saskatchewan arts and crafts on display and on sale.

Saturday Street FairNow entering its 17th year, this free Festival attracts upwards of 35,000 visitors, making it one of the largest in Saskatchewan. The Festival's 2008 theme is Art Illuminates. You can expect to see lanterns displayed throughout the area for the week, take a tour of stained glass work in the area, and much more.

The 2008 Festival will conclude with the popular Saturday Street Fair along 13th Avenue. As you stroll along you find over 250 artisans, great food, several performance stages, buskers, participatory events like Funville, and more. On Saturday evening, Holy Rosary Park will be the scene of two cabarets, concessions and other performances. In the spirit of inclusion, all events are free of charge.

The Cathedral Village Arts Festival operates as a committee of the Cathedral Area Community Association. It's made possible by the tremendous work of almost 300 volunteers, from across the artistic, professional and business spectrum, who provide their vision and expertise to create an exciting community event. Generous support from community, cultural organizations, funders, businesses, corporations and the public results in free access to all events.
