Houseboating a Great Choice for a Family Vacation

In early July, our travel blogger Becky added a little twist to her houseboating trip to Lac La Ronge – she took her family along! With the help of Eagle Point Resort in La Ronge, Becky and her family set out for a few days - and nights - out on the water.

Houseboating may not be an activity that typically comes to mind when planning a vacation in Saskatchewan, but Saskatchewan has a number of operators that rent houseboats including Eagle Point Resort for Family & Friends in La Ronge, Aurora Houseboats Ltd on Tobin Lake near Nipawin, and Sask River Tours on Lake Diefenbaker.

Houseboating is ideal for those who enjoy camping, but with all the amenities of home, including full bathrooms with showers and complete kitchens. Once out on the water you can go wherever your heart desires, set up camp in your favourite spot, or just jump off the back when you want to go for a swim.
