Saskatchewan’s snowmobile trail system connects communities that provide the snowmobiler the options of long-distance touring or an afternoon outing. Snowmobiling is the number one recreational winter activity in Saskatchewan, which has been accomplished with the help of snowmobile clubs and their volunteer members from across the province. ![]() Snowmobile clubs and their members are responsible for developing, signing and maintaining the snowmobile trail network in Saskatchewan. Clubs also provide many warm-up shelters along snowmobile trails. So, pack up a lunch, ride your sled to one of the many warm-up shelters, get the fire going, cook up a hot treat, and enjoy your Saskatchewan snowmobile trip. The Saskatchewan Snowmobile Association (SSA) is celebrating its 40th Anniversary this year. From its early beginnings in 1971 to today, we have seen some major changes. The SSA has grown from just 60 km of groomed snowmobile trails in Moose Mountain Provincial Park to today’s 9,000 km provincial snowmobile trail network.
