SaskTel Tankard Sure to be a Great Time

February 1 to 5, 2012 - Assiniboia

Saskatchewan’s rich curling history runs through the province from its towns and hamlets to its urban centres. One of the sport’s most prestigious events is the annual SaskTel Tankard, which determines the Saskatchewan Men’s Curling Champions. The 16 team tournament is an exciting showdown between Saskatchewan’s top curling talent.  Each year the location of the SaskTel Tankard moves, and this year it will take place in Assiniboia.  

Teams competing in the SaskTel Tankard are selected from the best the province has to offer. Three berths are awarded to the top registered Saskatchewan teams from each of the Saskatchewan Curling Tour and the World Curling Tour. Ten teams are drawn from the Northern and Southern Men’s Playdowns - which will be held in Nipawin and Swift Current, respectively, from January 19 to 22, 2012.

The SaskTel Tankard Provincial Championship is a great community event, which brings together premiere athletes from across the province and provides days of entertainment. Live curling is a Saskatchewan treasure that has to be experienced.

SaskTel Max Local on Demand will broadcast the semi-final and final SaskTel Tankard draws.
