Roughriders Defend Cup Championship

Arguably the two hottest topics of conversation in Saskatchewan at any given time are the weather and the Saskatchewan Roughriders. And with the simultaneous arrival of summer and football season, both things are once again front and center.

In a province where many residents bleed the team colours of green and white, expectations are always high and hopes even higher when the home team takes to the field. The 2007 Canadian Football League champion Roughriders began defense of their title with a win at home over the rival Edmonton Eskimos. The rest of the home schedule shapes up like this:

Sat. Jul. 19 Montreal, 7:00 pm
Sun. Jul. 27 Toronto, 7:00 pm
Thu. Aug. 7 Calgary, 10:00 pm
Sun. Aug. 31 Winnipeg, 3:00 pm
Sat. Sep. 20 BC, 9:30 pm
Fri. Oct. 3 Calgary, 10:00 pm
Sun. Oct. 19 Hamilton, 3:00 pm
Sat. Oct. 25 Edmonton, 6:30 pm

Rider RV VillageHere’s some great news for RVers. The Roughriders have secured a huge area for fans to park their RVs for four weekend games this summer. The Rider RV Village is across from Mosaic Stadium, where fans can enjoy a great pre-game and post-game atmosphere. Site rental is $50 per site, and includes up to 2-nights on site for one stationary recreational vehicle (no tents). Sites may not exceed six people. For more information, visit the Rider RV Village website.
