RCMP Sunset Retreat Ceremonies

RCMP Sunset Retreat CeremoniesThe RCMP Sunset Retreat Ceremonies are a colourful, 45-minute ceremony that includes the firing of the cannon, a troop drill display, the lowering of the flag with the playing of military music, followed by the March Past. Troop members wear the traditional scarlet tunic of the world-renowned Royal Canadian Mounted Police. 

The RCMP Sunset Retreat Ceremony is performed every Tuesday during the summer. The first performance is July 1, then each Tue until Aug 16 at 6:30pm weather permitting. The 2011 dates are July 1, 5, 12, 19, 26; Aug 2, 9, 16. Dates subject to change, please phone 306-780-5900 to confirm.

Sergeant Major's Parade

If you can't make it to one of this year's RCMP Sunset Retreat Ceremonies, be sure to catch the regularly scheduled Sergeant Major's Parade.

Mon, Wed and Fri, the colourful Sergeant Major's Parade is held shortly after 12:45pm on the Parade Square in front of the RCMP Chapel, weather permitting. During late fall, winter or inclement weather, the parade takes place in the Drill Hall.
