Kites Will Fill the Sky in Swift Current
June 25-26, 2011
The 2011 Windscape Kite Festival takes flight in Swift Current from June 25-26.
This world-class event attracts kite flyers, enthusiasts, and audiences from across the globe to one prairie field for an exciting weekend of kiting and family fun. The skies above Swift Current will fill with a colourful array of some of the most unique kites in the world.
Over forty national and international stars of kite performing and kite-making attend Windscape each year, filling the sky with multitudes of kite creations. This year some of the biggest names in kiting are attending from as far away as Germany, France, USA, and across Canada.
Kids of all ages will be entertained watching demonstrations, seeing "Flyin' Bob: The One Man Three Ring Circus", and playing in the children's tent at the bubble station, balloon sculpting, the straw bale maze, and the treasure-filled sand pile, as well as face-painting and tattoos. There will also be kite building and kite flying lessons throughout the day.
Admission to Windscape Kite Festival is free! For more information visit www.windscapekitefestival.ca.
