First Nations’ traditions and celebrations will be on display at one of Canada’s major indoor powwows in April. The 30th Annual First Nations University of Canada Powwow is coming to Regina’s Brandt Centre at IPSCO Place on April 5 and 6, 2008.
The theme of the 2008 edition of this long-running powwow is “Honouring Missing Family Members”, and special guest speaker Gwenda Yuzicappi will address this important and timely issue.
Other features of the First Nations University of Canada Powwow include dance competitions, trade show, First Nations University of Canada Committee Giveaway, the Second Annual First Nations University of Canada Princess Pageant, and much more. Registration of all singers and dancers is Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., and Grand Entry occurs at 12:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. both days.
