A) Russian B) Ukrainian C) Polish D) French Answer:B)Ukrainian. Over 170,000 individuals of Ukrainian origin set out for Canada during the period 1891–1914 as part of the Canadian government’s effort to recruit agriculturalists from east, central and south Europe. To celebrate their heritage, Ukrainian-Canadians have festivals throughout the year that are high-energy events that feature nimble dancers, colourful costumes, great traditional music, and of course, fantastic Ukrainian food. These festivals may feature group or individual dance competitions or entertaining demonstration of particular dances in showcases. Festivals also often include arts and crafts sales, bands, choirs and more. Here are some of Saskatchewan’s upcoming Ukrainian festivals: Svoboda Ukrainian Dance Festival, North Battleford Kalyna Festival of Ukrainian Dance, Yorkton Vesna Festival, Saskatoon Veselka, Foam Lake Ukrainian Day in the Park, Saskatoon |
