On the Road Again... Autumn Road Trip 2010

Last month the Saskatchewan Road Trip saga returned as Tourism Saskatchewan’s correspondent Becky and her sidekick Rocco set out on a new adventure.

This time things worked a little differently. The plan this time was to take a trip to a specific location in the province, and while they would share all of the cool things they saw and did on the way there, once they arrived at their destination, they would experience an authentic Saskatchewan vacation - just like the one you could have!

So, where did they go, you ask? Well, Becky put on her cowboy hat, boots and saddled up at Sturgeon River Ranch, located just west of Prince Albert National Park near Big River in northern Saskatchewan! She experienced a number of ranch activities and shared them all with Tourism Saskatchewan's followers on Facebook and Twitter.

Since Rocco is really not cut out for life on the ranch, or temperatures below 15 degrees Celsius, he spent his time at a doggy spa! Yes, you read that right, he enjoyed three days getting pampered in a VIP room at Trailrunners K9 Training Centre & Pet Resort, also located just outside of Big River. 

During her stay, Becky learned to bridle and saddle her own horse, went for day-long trail rides and came across the free-ranging bison that inhabit Prince Albert National Park. The entire trip was documented in photos, videos and posts to our Facebook and Twitter pages.
