Rural Concert Venues Entertain and Nourish the Soul

Routes Gallery, Harris, SK
Routes GalleryFormerly the Tessier United Church, Routes Gallery in Harris, is quickly becoming known as a hotbed of prairie art and music. Not only is this quaint and atmospheric space an Art Gallery, but it is also a concert hall where live music is performed once a month. From its beginnings in the spring of 2009, Routes Gallery became known as a performer’s paradise, with phenomenal sound, seats, and sights. From folk to pop, country to blues, and roots to traditional music, Harris has become a veritable juncture for the storyteller and his or her audience.

Essentially an Arts and Culture centre for the region, Routes Gallery boasts four exhibitions of visual arts each year, and also offers art classes and workshops. Open from April to November annually, the space can also be rented for personal use. Find out why so many people return to Routes Gallery time and time again.

Happy Nun Café & Music, Forget, SK
Ananda Arthouse Stage at Happy Nun Cafe & MusicThe Happy Nun Café & Music is located in the former community hall in downtown Forget, located 90 minutes south east of Regina. Their fresh, local cuisine will nourish your body, and the live music will nourish your soul. 

The Happy Nun Café frequently hosts musical events, which range from musical jams to ticketed concerts. All concerts are sponsored by the Ananda Arthouse and consist of two 45-minute sets beginning at 7:30. Tickets are $20 and include dessert and refreshments at intermission. A limited number of dinner reservations are accepted for each concert as seating for supper is limited to 30 so reserve your spot early.
